The Golden Age of Video (Ricardo Autobahn)
BioShock 2: ‘Capture the Sister’ multiplayer trailer
Forget capturing flags, that's so old-school. Stuffing little sisters into art deco ventilation shafts is the new hotness.
This may give Grifball a run for its money.

Penny Arcade's Tycho on the black arts required to get Borderlands PC multiplayer up and running
I chose the PC version, which I don't regret, because its comparatively stratospheric resomolutions do the game's art an incredible service. I did run aground on some port forwarding at first, which is apparently the cosmic tradeoff. After an hour or so of bullshit, which included a host of router perforations as well sequence of voodoo-like rituals culled from innumerable fora, I was finally able to enter a game with a friend. At this point, I'd played the game so much by myself that it was not a multiplayer game at all, so when he manifested in that inviolate space I almost didn't know how to react. I imagine it was something like the first two humans to ever look upon one another; there was suspicion, fear, and ultimately rage. I had to come to terms with the idea that I was not the only protagonist, which is - and let's be honest - suboptimal.
port forwarding = 'router perforations'
I love it. That man certainly has a way with words.
I ended up following the readme and forwarding:
7777 TCP/UDP
28900 TCP
27900 UDP
28910 TCP
when that still didn't work, someone on the forums mentioned that Gamespy required 6500 UDP also to be forwarded. Once I rebooted the router (Apple Time Capsule) I was able to host/invite, etc.
Hoping an update brings UPnP so more people can/will host.
Ahnuld's 'F-you' to Ammiano - Classy!
Did Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's office use a coded veto message to send the f-bomb to Tom Ammiano, soon after the San Francisco assemblyman made news by telling the governor to "kiss my gay ass"?
One step above "I'm rubber and you're glue..." The sophisticated barbs those two are trading more than make up for the fact that the state is crumbling around them. Bravo!

The Violin Maker - 2009 Doc Challenge Finalist
frenetic productions' entry in the 2009 International Doc Challenge, The Violin Maker was selected as one of the finalists and walked away with the award for Best Use of Biography/Character Study Genre.
Best of all, Kanye West was nowhere to be seen.
You can watch the entire film, along with the other finalists at the Doc Challenge site.
This is my buddy Greg's film that I helped out with last Spring. I am now adding 'worked on an award-winning film' to all future business cards and resumes.

The Lacey WA Harley shop moved but the statue's still here
...and why is that a-ha "Take On Me" song suddenly going through my head?

Anything more satisfying than blowing up someone's Hornet while they're still in it?
...especially when they've already started celebrating killing you.
I Love Dylan as much as the next guy.
But his Christmas album sounds like an SNL sketch (only funny.)
