Vertical Garden at Tacoma Goodwill Center

Last September French artist Patrick Blanc installed an 800-square-foot garden wall at the Goodwill Industries building on South 27th Street in Tacoma.

The installation is built on a metal frame supporting PVC pipes fronted by a couple layers of felt. It looks like irrigation comes in through those four pipes at the top.

This is what it looks like in January. It will be interesting to see what it looks like this Spring.

Kristin Hersh has started the new year with a Throwing Muses CASH project.
"...I'll share demos each month on my CASH page and post an essay, along with various bits and pieces throughout the year on the Muses' new CASH page.

Please feel free to share this music - I'll need your help spreading the word about the Muses record in order to make it happen.

You meet the classiest people on Xbox LIVE. (via @AblativMeatshld)

I especially love the “...i will contact my lawyer.” bit at the end. Maybe Jack Thompson will take the case.

Porch and Driveway are poured

They had a couple big trucks parked out front and a few workers still around, so I couldn't take a bunch of pictures, but the porch and the driveway are in.

I know the RROD is pretty much inevitable, but what a drag anyway.
